Microthreads have been incorperated into the design of the dental implant to preserve bone. The area of microthreads is a well researched in the dental fraterinty
Many systems have long smooth polished necks, if placed subcrestally this will predispose to severe bone loss (up to 1-2mm).The microthreads have been applied as it has been suggested that bone growth is promoted on a surface where there is a slight incline rather than a shear face. The micro-threading has been highly engineered to promote this bone growth and try to reduce resorption.
Micro-threaing along with the microtexture that is created by acid etching the surface of the implants gives them excellent bone retention and adherance. In our implants the surface has the material removed from it rather than applied to it.This means that there is not an area of weakness just below the implant surface as there could be had the surface been applied.
