 Implant shape

Variable implant taper resembles the natural tooth root and socket anatomy aiding immediate insertion.  On insertion  the implant taper consolidates fine trabecular bone promoting primary fixation.

When a parallel sided implant is loaded the force is transmitted to the bottom of the implant. As it is only the shear force strength of the bone at the bone implant interface that will resist these loads. With a tapered implant however, the bone will receive a combination of shear and compressive stresses the bone being better able to resist compressive loads.

The shape of the implant also plays a vital role during insertion. The tapered shape of the Combi implant  means that only minimal drilling is required, in fact we suggest that when you use Osteo-Ti implants in the maxilla site forming is usually all that is needed, saving time and bone.

The drills have been designed to eliminate the need for stepwise preparation, in the Osteo-Ti system only 3 burs are required. Which means initial setup costs are minimal and a lot of time is saved,  most of all it is very easy to use. The burs have been designed to harvest bone during preparation of the osteotomy.

The tapered form of the implant also helps with bone compaction when it is inserted. This means that the primary fixation is better and because compaction has taken place it has been suggested that the healing around the implant is actually better.

The taper also has the benefit that it can be used where a knife edge of bone is present. The bone can be split using our dilators, site formed and the implant inserted. The ridge will expand gently with the shape of the implant, preserving the buccal plate,  making Ezee-Combi one of the best systems to use in such circumstances.
